Job summary

Array Labs is building a world-class backend for processing and serving satellite data at scale. As Staff Software Engineer, you will design distributed systems, optimize geospatial data pipelines, and deliver high-performance APIs used by researchers and products alike.

You will collaborate across frontend, science, and satellite systems teams, shaping the backend roadmap, data models, and cloud-native infrastructure in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience, including 4+ years building distributed systems and scalable APIs.
• Strong proficiency in backend languages (Python, C++, Java) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Terraform.
• Familiarity with geospatial databases, 3D visualization, and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable distributed systems for processing and analyzing massive datasets from our satellite constellation.
• Develop and optimize database schemas and storage solutions for petabyte-scale 3D geospatial data.
• Architect and maintain high-performance APIs and services for geospatial data streaming, querying, and analysis.
• Lead data ingestion, processing, and delivery pipelines across systems.
• Implement robust monitoring, logging, and operational tooling for reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and drive backend roadmap.
