Your Title: Staff Data Governance Engineer

Job Location: Chennai (Remote)

Our Department: AECO Sales Operations

Are you a motivated Data Governance engineer with demonstrated experience in Transformation projects, Master Data, and Data Quality?

We are seeking an experienced data professional to take on the responsibilities of a Data Governance Engineer in Trimble’s AECO sector.

You will work as part of the Sales Operations Data Governance team, responsible for ensuring reliable data for stakeholders across sales operations, marketing, sales, finance, customer success, and others.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with multiple stakeholders across different functions to promote data governance best practices across key data sources.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Executing the data quality lifecycle, including profiling, setting up DQ measures, remediation, monitoring, and measuring business value.
  2. Documenting rules, guidelines, processes, and standards to establish and maintain data quality.
  3. Participating in data transformation projects, including MDM, data migration, and system re-engineering.
  4. Creating data quality products and overseeing their maintenance.
  5. Evaluating needs to resolve specific data problems, performing root cause analysis, creating corrective action plans, and defining strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
  6. Engaging with stakeholders in a data ecosystem to ensure data governance and quality requirements are met throughout the data product lifecycle.

Your background is:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Governance Engineer, managing Master Data and Data Quality.
  3. Expertise in data profiling, data quality rule setup, root cause analysis, data remediation, monitoring, and dashboards.
  4. Proficiency in Informatica, Informatica IDQ, Python, SQL, SnowSQL.
  5. Experience with data enrichment tools (e.g., D&B, Leadspace) and processes.
  6. Expertise in MDM account data, metadata, hierarchy, duplication, validation rules, tools, and processes.
  7. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  8. Strategic vision to align account master data and other domains with business objectives.
