Job summary

Upside is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the Data Engineering team’s most impactful data products and analytics platform capabilities. You will drive architecture across teams, shaping patterns for scalable data infrastructure and advanced analytics.

You will mentor engineers, raise the bar for data quality, and collaborate with product and business stakeholders to deliver end‑to‑end data solutions that enable ML and new product features.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data or analytics engineering, owning complex, business‑critical data systems end to end.
• Deep experience with the modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, Databricks), Terraform, and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform modernization across the analytics ecosystem, migrate pipelines to scalable patterns, improve infra and developer experience.
• Design and deliver complex data products used by analysts, data scientists, and product teams to unlock new features and ML models.
• Mentor engineers, document tooling, and raise analytics engineering standards across the company.
