Job summary

Visa is seeking a Staff Data Engineer in Austin to design, build, and optimize large-scale data pipelines for batch and real-time processing. You will lead data platform initiatives, focusing on scalable, secure data solutions and ML-ready data products across teams.

The role requires strong expertise in Hadoop, Spark, Python, SQL, and orchestration with Airflow. This is a hybrid position with in-office days defined by the Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree OR 2+ years with an Advanced degree OR 0 years with a PhD
• Experience delivering large-scale data platforms and pipelines
• Strong knowledge of big data tooling and data governance

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize large-scale data pipelines for batch and real-time processing
• Lead initiatives to process, transform, and manage structured and unstructured data across platforms
• Drive development of data platforms and data products supporting analytics, reporting, and ML use cases
• Partner with product, analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions
• Architect solutions using Hadoop, Spark, and distributed processing frameworks
