Job summary

Mia is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Platform team in Austin. You will own OEM billing pipelines, dbt models, dashboards, and data alerting, while contributing to core backend systems as priorities shift.

Role demands strong Python and SQL skills, API integrations, and high ownership. You will work hybrid from downtown Austin and collaborate across product, data, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering with strong Python fundamentals.
• Strong SQL and data modeling: read a dbt DAG, fix models, reason about grain and joins.
• Experience integrating with external APIs and files, including retries, idempotency, and reconciliation.
• High ownership and attention to detail; follow issues through to resolution.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot).
• Based in Austin and able to work from our downtown office.

Responsibilities

• Own OEM billing end-to-end: build and maintain integrations with partner APIs and data feeds, ensure accuracy of numbers.
• Build, maintain, and debug dbt models and dashboards as needs arise.
• Design and improve alerting across the data platform to surface issues early.
• Drive data platform reliability, quality, and tooling improvements.
• Contribute to backend Python systems as priorities shift.
• Address edge cases and discrepancies; billing accuracy is part of the role.
