Todyl, Inc. is seeking a staff-level data engineer to lead data ingestion and storage systems for a cloud-native platform. You will collaborate with Architecture, AI/ML, and product teams, owning complex initiatives from design through stabilization, with a focus on reliability, scale, and observability.

You will mentor engineers, shape architectural patterns across teams, and drive data-driven decisions. This role is based in Denver with three days in the office, offering a comprehensive

Qualifications

• 8+ years of end-to-end commercial software and application development.
• 3+ years of commercial software development for a multi-tenant cloud platform.
• Demonstrated experience owning complex, ambiguous initiatives end-to-end.
• Proficient in Python and SQL for data work.
• Experience with data ingestion pipelines and data storage modeling.
• AWS and cloud-native multi-tenant infrastructure expertise.
• Observability tools such as Grafana/Prometheus a plus.
• Git and modern development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for data ingestion and storage systems across multi-quarter initiatives.
• Architect scalable, reliable data storage and ingestion solutions and evaluate trade-offs.
• Establish architectural principles, patterns, and observability standards.
• Design data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources for real-time analytics.
• Collaborate with Architecture, AI/ML, and product teams during design phases.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Participate in on-call rotation and resolve difficult incidents.
• Estimate complex work, identify cross-team risks, and communicate plans early.
• Reduce technical debt and move toward self-managing systems.
• Treat code reviews and testing as quality levers with strong coverage.
