Join us as a Staff Data Engineer at Headspace

At Headspace, our mission is to transform mental healthcare to improve the health and happiness of the world. We are seeking experienced engineers to work on our data platform and pipelines, building out our modern data infrastructure in collaboration with data science, analytics, and engineering teams. This role offers an incredible opportunity to contribute to personalized mental health and wellness solutions for our members.

Location: US-remote within the United States. Candidates must reside full-time in the US.

What you will do:

1. Lead the Development of Scalable Data Infrastructure: Design and implement pySpark data pipelines to ingest and transform datasets into our data lake, ensuring fault tolerance and robustness.
2. Set Design Patterns: Establish and enforce standards in code, architecture, schema, and table design.
3. Architect Data Platforms: Develop secure, compliant, and privacy-conscious data warehousing solutions tailored for healthcare needs.
4. Collaborate for Business Insights: Work with analytics, product, and engineering teams to ensure the data ecosystem provides reliable insights.
5. Champion Data-Driven Leadership: Mentor team members, promote a data-first culture, and foster innovation.
6. Influence Organizational Strategy: Act as a technical thought leader, shaping data strategies and cross-functional roadmaps.

What you will bring:

• Extensive Data Engineering Experience: 10+ years in enterprise data solutions with leadership in high-impact initiatives.
• Expertise in Modern Data Ecosystems: Proficiency with Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Redshift, and cloud-native technologies.
• Architectural Skills: Deep experience with real-time and batch ETL pipelines, focusing on scalability and reliability.
• Leadership and Mentorship: Proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire engineering teams.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Skilled at aligning technical solutions with business goals.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Creative and effective in tackling complex challenges.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

The expected salary range for this role is $140,400 - $224,250 plus equity and benefits. Salary offers are determined based on location, experience, skills, and education.
