Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Data Analyst (SQL Developer) based in United States.

This is a senior individual-contributor role supporting data-driven decision-making across a rapidly growing healthcare organization.

You will act as a strategic analytics partner to executive leadership and teams across Operations, Finance, Clinical, and other functions.

The role combines advanced SQL development with business intelligence, predictive analytics, KPI strategy, and data governance.

You will help shape how data supports patient outcomes, provider performance, operational scalability, and regulatory compliance.

This position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence enterprise-level analytics standards and reporting frameworks.

You will also mentor other analysts while remaining deeply hands-on with data, SQL, and analytical problem-solving.

The environment is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and focused on turning complex healthcare data into clear, actionable business decisions.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and drive analytics strategies in partnership with executive leadership, translating organizational priorities into measurable data initiatives.
  • Develop long-term KPI frameworks covering patient outcomes, provider performance, compliance, operational efficiency, and scalability.
  • Use advanced SQL on a daily basis to extract, clean, organize, integrate, and analyze data from multiple sources, maintaining strong data-quality standards.
  • Build scalable and reusable data models that support enterprise-level reporting, business intelligence, and strategic analysis.
  • Establish consistent data definitions, reporting structures, and metric calculations across the organization.
  • Support regulatory, quality, operational, and compliance reporting while identifying risks related to data accuracy, audit readiness, and healthcare requirements.
  • Anticipate changes in business or operational processes and proactively recommend adjustments to data structures, reporting, and analytical frameworks.
  • Develop predictive models and forecasts using SQL, Python, R, or comparable analytical technologies.
  • Create senior-level analytical frameworks for evaluating operational initiatives and measuring their effectiveness.
  • Partner strategically with Operations, Finance, Clinical, and other business functions to identify opportunities, answer complex questions, and improve decision-making.
  • Translate ambiguous requests from non-technical stakeholders into structured analytical plans, methodologies, and deliverables.
  • Present complex findings to senior and executive stakeholders, turning analytical insights into clear recommendations and business actions.
  • Identify gaps in data collection, governance, reporting, and analytical processes and implement scalable improvements.
  • Mentor mid-level and senior analysts, strengthening both technical capabilities and business acumen across the analytics organization.
  • Maintain a high standard of analytical rigor and ensure data-driven recommendations are based on reliable, well-understood information.
  • Complete a technical assessment during the interview process to demonstrate SQL proficiency and analytical reasoning.
Requirements:
  • 7–10 years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a closely related analytical discipline, with strong strategic thinking and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Expert-level SQL skills with extensive hands-on experience cleaning, structuring, integrating, querying, and analyzing complex data sets.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, or similar analytical programming languages.
  • Advanced experience with BI and visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Zoho Analytics, or comparable tools.
  • Experience working with healthcare, telehealth, or another highly regulated industry is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, compliance considerations, and regulatory reporting environments.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound analytical decisions in ambiguous, high-stakes, and fast-moving environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level stakeholders and serve as a trusted strategic analytics partner.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible business language.
  • Ability to transform unclear business questions into structured analytical plans and clearly communicate methodology, findings, and recommendations.
  • Strong presentation skills and confidence communicating complex data to senior leadership.
  • Ability to balance deep technical expertise with strong interpersonal and business-partnering skills.
  • Comfortable managing urgent, high-visibility analytical requests while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Experience mentoring analysts and contributing to the development of analytical standards and best practices.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, healthcare compliance frameworks, or other regulated environments is preferred.
  • Experience supporting multi-state healthcare operations, board-level reporting, investor analytics, or enterprise KPI frameworks is a plus.
  • The role requires strong independent analytical judgment; candidates should be able to evaluate data quality and perform core SQL analysis without relying on AI tools.
Benefits:
  • Remote work: Fully remote position available across the United States.
  • Opportunity to work in a mission-driven healthcare and telehealth environment.
  • High level of autonomy and ownership within a relatively flat organizational structure.
  • Opportunity to influence executive decision-making, operational performance, patient outcomes, and enterprise analytics strategy.
  • Significant scope to establish scalable KPI frameworks, data models, reporting standards, and analytical methodologies.
