Ladders is seeking a Staff Cloud Operations Engineer to join our client’s remote team based in the United States. You'll own reliability, scalability, and security of GCP infrastructure and drive operational maturity across teams.

Collaborate with security, product, and non-technical stakeholders to improve observability, automate recovery, and reduce toil while ensuring high availability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of expert-level cloud infrastructure experience, preferably GCP.
• Proficiency with observability: monitoring, logging, tracing.
• Programming/scripting in Python, Bash, Java, or Go.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience collaborating with security teams and making informed security decisions.
• Familiarity with AI tools to enhance productivity and automate workflows.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Cloud Operations Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will own the reliability, scalability, and security of cloud infrastructure while improving the operational maturity of the environment. The ideal candidate will partner closely with security, technical, and non-technical stakeholders to strengthen observability, streamline incident response, and reduce operational toil. This is a highly cross-functional position focused on building resilient GCP infrastructure and enabling faster, more automated recovery when issues arise. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available. Compensation: $185,000 – $200,000 annually.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with technical and non-technical teams across departments to improve workflow automation.
• Manage outage incidents and maintain compliance documentation.
• Enhance the incident response process and monitoring tools for application reliability.
• Ensure cloud infrastructure is compliant with security and regulatory standards.
• Design, implement, and maintain GCP cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure cloud infrastructure scalability, security, and high availability.
• Automate processes to minimize toil and enable self-healing during incidents.
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and support observability tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of expert-level experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, preferably GCP.
• Proficiency in observability tools and processes, including monitoring, logging, and tracing.
• Strong skills in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Java, or Go.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience collaborating with security teams and making informed security decisions.
• Familiarity with AI tools to enhance productivity and automate workflows.
