Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Sr GCP Cloud Architect with 8+ years in cloud/platform/data engineering. Lead architecture, implementation, and operations of secure, cost-efficient GCP workloads, leveraging Terraform and scripting to automate delivery and drive reliability.

The role requires hands-on GCP experience, strong Linux and Kubernetes fundamentals, IAM and networking expertise, and a commitment to on-call resilience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cloud/platform/data engineering.
• 4+ years hands-on with GCP.
• Strong Linux, containers, and Kubernetes fundamentals.
• IAM, networking, security best practices, and secrets management on GCP.
• Proficiency in Terraform, CI/CD, Python or Go, and SQL; solid schema/design and performance tuning skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver GCP workloads using Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL/Spanner, Pub/Sub.
• Build infrastructure as code and CI/CD (Terraform, Cloud Build, Git) with environment promotion and guardrails.
• Implement identity and security controls (IAM, service accounts, Secrets Manager, KMS, org policies, VPC Service Controls).
• Design scalable networking (VPCs, subnets, NAT, load balancers, Private Service Connect) and interconnectivity.
• Establish observability and SRE practices (Cloud Monitoring, Logging, Error Reporting; SLIs/SLOs, alerting, runbooks).
• Develop data platforms and pipelines with BigQuery, Dataflow/Beam, Composer/Airflow, Dataproc; batch and streaming.
• Automate operations with Cloud Functions/Run and APIs; drive reliability, performance, and cost optimization.
• Lead incident response and postmortems; mentor engineers and document standards.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $160,000 a year
