Job summary

AeroVect is hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure (Cloud) in Colorado to own the data infrastructure powering its autonomous platform. You will design scalable data pipelines and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, building CI/CD, IaC, and internal tools while collaborating with autonomy and systems engineers to improve resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience building cloud infrastructure and data systems for large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong Python skills focused on data pipeline development and automation.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, and gRPC for scalable data systems.
• Deep expertise with AWS cloud services (compute, storage, data processing).
• Experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI).
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.
• Experience automating deployments with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows and code review processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines moving on-prem to cloud.
• Architect and manage cloud-based infrastructure (AWS) for scalable compute and data processing.
• Integrate on-prem and cloud data flows into a cohesive data architecture.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable delivery across tests and production.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or CloudFormation for automated provisioning.
• Develop internal services and automation tools for data ingestion, processing, observability.
• Enforce data reliability, observability, and security best practices.
• Lead root-cause analysis for data infra and pipeline issues; design long-term resilience.
• Collaborate with autonomy and systems engineers on scalable data interfaces and deployment strategies.
