Assured is modernizing insurance by building scalable, secure cloud infrastructure for a SaaS platform. We are seeking a Staff Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, automate, and enhance our distributed systems.

You will work with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes to scale and improve platform reliability, security, and developer experience, while mentoring engineers and leading critical infrastructure initiatives.

We are looking for a Staff Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have worked in a start-up environment and wants to help us build efficient, reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure and developer platforms. You will bring your expertise and understanding in deploying and automating the delivery of modern SaaS platforms at scale.

You will…

• Design and build infrastructure and tooling to support the Assured platform, from scaling existing products to enabling entirely new product initiatives
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management with Terraform and Terragrunt to ensure consistency, repeatability, and reliability across a large number of customer environments
• Evolve our platform foundations across AWS (EKS, SQS, Aurora, S3), balancing innovation with sustainability
• Partner with product and engineering teams to improve performance, and reliability across services
• Strengthen our security posture, implementing best practices and ensuring compliance with industry standards
• Improve developer experience, building systems that make it easier and faster for teams to deliver value
• Lead, mentor, and collaborate with engineers across the company, raising the bar on technical excellence and infrastructure practices

• You have experience architecting and operating highly available database solutions, ideally Aurora PostgreSQL
• You are self‑motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working with minimal oversight

• You have strong experience with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes in a scaling environment
• You bring a strong engineering background and history of designing resilient systems

Compensation

$180K – $210K Offers Equity

At Assured, we recognize the uniqueness of individual needs and offer multiple distinct compensation packages upon extending a job offer. Our flexible options cater to your preference for cash, equity, or a balance of both. The cash compensation range for this position is outlined below. We also offer medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with guaranteed matching, and a flexible time off policy. Please note that compensation may fall outside of this range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and is subject to change.
