Job summary

Tabs, based in New York City, seeks a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to own its AWS foundation, container platforms, and CI/CD workflows. You will lead platform direction, shape engineering and product decisions, and mentor teams while delivering scalable, compliant infrastructure.

You will collaborate across platform and product teams, ensuring reliability, observability, and automation, with a strong emphasis on developer experience and risk management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, infrastructure, or SRE roles.
• Experience in TypeScript, Python, or Rust with production scripts and tools.
• Hands-on AWS production workloads including ECS/Fargate.
• Terraform ownership and Docker in production.
• Kubernetes and Helm expertise.
• CI/CD systems, especially GitHub Actions.
• Observability tooling with SLIs/SLOs and alerting.
• Ability to propose architectures and drive infra decisions.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving org.
• Mentoring engineers and shaping infra practices.

Responsibilities

• Define reliability standards, SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Improve observability, alerting, and incident processes.
• Lead high-severity incidents with actionable follow-ups.
• Partner with teams to design resilient, scalable systems.
• Write production-quality code and automation to reduce toil.
• Mentor engineers and propagate best practices across teams.
