Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Virtual Design & Data Solutions Staff Engineering Technician in the Charlotte area to support the development of high‑quality engineering deliverables for water and infrastructure projects.

Under supervision, you will use industry tools such as CAD and BIM to create and modify site plans, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with BV standards and codes.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate required prior to assuming duties.
• Associate degree in drafting or engineering design technology preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Functions in a project engineering technician capacity.
• Develops and modifies technical deliverables under supervision.
• Creates and maintains site development plans using CAD/BIM tools.
• Reviews design inputs to ensure codes and standards compliance.
• May guide other engineers and technicians to ensure quality.
• Coordinates with other design group personnel to review project information.
• Supports field activities as needed.
• Maintains documentation and records with BV standards.
