Job summary
Knightscope is seeking a Staff-level Chassis and Motion Control Engineer to lead the mechanical and control systems development of our autonomous security robot platforms. You will own chassis architecture, suspension, drivetrain, and motion control systems to enable safe, reliable autonomous operation across diverse terrain.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
- 10+ years of automotive experience.
- Experience designing, prototyping, and testing mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Familiarity with chassis software development tools (MATLAB/Simulink, RaptorDEV).
- Ability to read electrical schematics and automotive bus systems (CAN, Ethernet).
- Delivery of chassis systems from concept to production.
- Proficiency with Vector/ETAS/New Eagle tools (CANape, INCA, RaptorCAL).
Responsibilities
- Design and develop braking, steering, wheel, tire, and suspension concepts for an autonomous robot.
- Define chassis control strategies and drive software; align with autonomy integration.
- Lead design reviews, failure analysis, and validation across cross-functional teams.
- Prototype and test at subsystem and full-vehicle levels.
