Overview

Staff Business Systems Analyst – Technical Lead (L6) – United States - Remote

We’re transforming the grocery industry. Instacart invites the world to share love through food and aims to provide access to the food people love, with safe and flexible earnings opportunities for Instacart Personal Shoppers. Instacart is a Flex First team, enabling work from home, an office, or other locations with regular in-person events.

About the Role

As a Financial Systems Technical Lead, you will define the strategy, roadmap, and delivery for Instacart’s Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) environments. This role blends strategic ownership with hands-on technical leadership to ensure financial platforms are secure, scalable, audit-ready, and able to evolve with the business. You will shape the architecture for integrations across the financial ecosystem, modernize release and automation practices through CI/CD, and partner with Finance, Accounting, and Product to enable insight, compliance, and growth.

About the Team

The Finance Systems and Solutions (FINSS) team owns the end-to-end lifecycle, governance, and evolution of technology systems that enable Finance across Instacart. We align with Finance leadership to ensure systems are strategic enablers of insight, control, and growth.

About the Job

Strategy, Roadmap & Architecture

  • Define and evolve the technical strategy and roadmap for OCI/OIC, aligned with Finance and enterprise priorities.
  • Lead architecture design for integrations with upstream and downstream applications such as Salesforce, High Radius, Workiva, Floqast, and other financial applications.
  • Translate complex technical landscapes into clear priorities and milestones for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Solution Delivery & Technical Leadership

  • Establish CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated release frameworks to improve reliability and reduce risk.
  • Deliver robust, scalable solutions that support accounting operations and financial reporting workflows.
  • Mentor junior BSAs, raising technical standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Engineering, IT, and Product to align technology initiatives with business outcomes.
  • Influence roadmap priorities through measurable outcomes (e.g., release velocity, integration stability, system uptime).
  • Monitor Oracle feature releases and evaluate emerging technologies, including automation and AI, for financial system use cases.
  • Promote organizational learning through enablement sessions, technical deep-dives, and knowledge-sharing forums.

Security & Compliance

  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure OCI/OIC solutions adhere to least-privilege access, audit controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Advocate for observability, logging, and infrastructure practices that ensure systems are resilient and audit-ready.

This role is ideal for a senior analyst who combines hands-on technical expertise with architectural vision and has the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, integration development, and/or financial systems, with a focus on cloud-native environments (OCI, AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Proven track record as a technical lead or architect for enterprise financial systems and Oracle integrations.
  • Hands-on expertise with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and release automation.
  • Experience integrating Oracle Financials with applications such as Salesforce, High Radius, billing platforms, and data warehouses.
  • Ability to identify risks, propose strategic initiatives, and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or BSAs, fostering technical growth across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience administering OCI (compartments, IAM, compute, databases) and developing in OIC (orchestration, adapters, monitoring).
  • Experience modernizing legacy financial system architectures.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, observability frameworks, and compliance-driven architectures.
  • Interest in applying AI, automation, and analytics to streamline financial workflows.
