Job description

Fishbeck is actively seeking a Civil Engineer with an interest in bridge/structural design for employment in one of our Ohio offices. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work alongside and be mentored by some of the best technical professionals in the state on projects that will impact local communities for generations. This is an excellent opportunity to join our company that is recognized as a leader in the transportation industry. This position will provide the candidate the opportunity to work on exciting projects and grow along with the Ohio transportation team. This position will allow the candidate future advancement and long-term growth.


Primary Functions

  • Work with experienced professionals on assignments related to bridge/structure design, analysis, calculations, and plan development.
  • Function as a design engineer on projects that involve bridges, culverts, retaining walls.
  • Function as a bridge inspection team member for bridge and structure inspection services.
  • Perform load ratings of existing and proposed bridges throughout Ohio.
  • Demonstrate theoretical/practical civil engineering and specialized software knowledge.
  • Work closely with other technical staff and with peers in the industry to provide consulting engineering services, primarily for ODOT and local agencies.
  • Assist with transportation tasks in conjunction with other staff in MI, OH, and IN offices.

Minimum Physical Requirements
Occasionally exposed to light lifting, sitting, and walking. Will perform duties in the field and will be required to access and maneuver around project sites and use a computer. Capable of traveling to and from project or client sites is required. Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes. Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
