Job summary

Tools for Humanity is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build core technologies and infrastructure for the World ID protocol and ecosystem. You will own backend design, scaling, and privacy-preserving systems, spanning credentials issuance, decentralized platforms, and biometric workflows.

Expect to lead senior engineers, mentor teams, and shape the technical roadmap in a fast-paced environment focused on scale, security and decentralization.

Qualifications

• Senior leader with track record in large-scale backend systems.
• Ability to mentor engineers and drive complex projects end-to-end.
• Experience with distributed systems or identity platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build mission-critical backend systems for World ID.
• Lead cross-functional projects and provide technical direction.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with leadership and product teams.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap and strategic planning.
