Job summary

Snap Inc is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to design, implement, and operate our most critical and scalable services, from user identity to core persistence, at scale in the Los Angeles area.

You will collaborate across teams, evaluate trade-offs, ensure reliability, security, and performance, and leverage AI tooling to accelerate development while maintaining architectural integrity and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; 9+ years experience, or Master’s with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years.
• 1+ years of experience with technical leadership or acting as the domain-expert to a technical organization
• Experience with distributed systems
