Job summary

Tabby is seeking a Staff Engineer to guide Core Backend initiatives for a high-scale fintech platform. You will architect and evolve shared services, drive reliability, and build developer tools for teams across Tabby’s remote engineering network.

You’ll lead complex initiatives end-to-end, mentor engineers, and contribute to security, observability, and performance. This role is fully remote in a global, fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Hands-on Go back-end development in production.
• Experience with distributed, high-load systems.
• Proven ownership of complex initiatives from design to production.
• Strong English and ability to mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Shape technical direction and roadmap of Core Backend.
• Create reusable solutions to improve productivity and reliability.
• Lead design of shared backend capabilities including event-driven communication and data protection.
• Develop internal tools like Service Catalog, API Registry, and SLO platform.
• Drive initiatives from discovery to production validation with cross-team coordination.
• Mentor engineers and document architectural decisions.
