Job summary

Analog Devices is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Health Solutions to design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native backend platforms for connected medical devices and digital health solutions. You will work across engineering and cross-functional teams on backend systems, security, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires hands-on Java/Python experience, AWS expertise, and a strong track record in distributed systems and CI/CD pipelines within regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, backend development, cloud engineering, or related technical roles.
• Strong hands-on experience developing backend applications using Java, preferably with Spring Boot, as well as Python.
• Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, Cognito, and related cloud technologies.
• Experience building distributed systems, microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven applications.
• Experience with containerized applications and orchestration technologies such as ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of software architecture, scalability, performance, and reliability considerations for backend systems.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and performance optimization.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code, and modern software development practices.
• Understanding of application security principles, authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure software development practices.
• Familiarity with HIPAA requirements and healthcare data privacy and security controls.
• Experience working in regulated environments and supporting software development within structured quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native backend services supporting connected medical devices, SaMD, and digital health solutions.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and cloud platform services.
• Develop secure, reliable, and maintainable backend applications using Java, Python, and modern software engineering practices.
• Design and implement cloud solutions leveraging AWS services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, Cognito, and related platform technologies.
• Contribute to backend platform development throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and development through validation, deployment, and post-market support.
• Design and implement secure APIs, authentication, authorization, encryption, audit logging, and data protection mechanisms supporting HIPAA and healthcare security requirements.
• Support software verification and validation activities in accordance with regulated medical device development practices, including FDA expectations and applicable industry standards.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, infrastructure-as-code solutions, and cloud deployment processes.
• Support the reliability, performance, monitoring, and operational readiness of cloud-based production systems.
