Job summary

Affirm is seeking a seasoned Staff Engineer to drive our CI and developer productivity infrastructure. You will own the design, implementation, and reliability of build pipelines across services, enabling engineers to ship high-quality software quickly.

The role requires experience in CI, GitHub/Buildkite, cloud (AWS, Kubernetes), and programming in Python/Java/Kotlin. This remote-first position offers a base pay range of $181k–$241k per year with equity opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading CI/build systems initiatives.
• Strong coding background in Python/Java/Kotlin.
• Experience with GitHub, Buildkite, Artifactory.
• Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes and IaC practices.
• Open source contributions are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own design, scalability and reliability of CI pipelines.
• Improve build times, test coverage and reporting.
• Mentor CI engineers and evangelize CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate with engineering to align workflows with product goals.
