Experian is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the delivery of high-throughput transactional systems and agentic AI applications. You will mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and own cloud architecture across squads.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 8+ years of professional software engineering, including 3+ years in staff/principal or equivalent leadership
• 4+ years building/operating production services on AWS with compute/storage/messaging experience
• 2+ years Python development with async patterns and 2+ years Go in production
• Experience architecting/operating large-scale transactional systems
• Hands-on experience building agentic AI systems (agent orchestration, tool calling, RAG)
• Relational and non-relational databases with design/optimization at scale
• Proficiency with containerization and IaC (Docker, Terraform, CDK, Helm)
• Observability tooling experience (Datadog, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch)
• CI/CD ownership (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Harness)
• Async messaging systems (Kafka, SQS)
• Mentoring engineers and driving engineering culture improvements

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and own large-scale transactional platform services
• Lead end-to-end design of agentic AI workflows on AWS
• Write production-grade Python and Go services
• Design and govern AWS-native infrastructure aligning with Well-Architected Framework
• Establish engineering standards: code reviews, tests, CI/CD, observability
• Lead technical design reviews and produce ADRs and specs
• Resolve performance bottlenecks in distributed systems
• Guide PoC work and present recommendations to leadership
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through reviews and coaching
• Contribute to on-call rotations, incident response, and post-mortems
