Job summary

Crawford Thomas Recruiting represents a full-service public accounting firm seeking a Staff Auditor in Sanford, FL. The role offers on-site work with a Monday–Friday schedule and flexible options (full-time, part-time, or flexible scheduling) based on experience.

The ideal candidate has public accounting and audit experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple engagements while maintaining excellent client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• At least one year of relevant public accounting and audit experience.
• Three to four years of public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• CPA certification or active progress toward certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of auditing standards, internal controls, GAAP, and GAAS.

Responsibilities

• Participate in multiple stages of audit engagements and related consulting.
• Develop understanding of client internal control structures and assess audit risks.
• Assist with developing audit programs and completing engagement procedures.
• Prepare organized work papers and document testing performed.
• Identify and reconcile discrepancies between schedules and financial statements.
• Assist with preparing client financial statements and reports.
• Provide audit support in accordance with regulations and standards.
• Continue developing knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and related standards.
• Communicate findings clearly to clients and internal teams.
• Manage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional skepticism.
