WildEarth Guardians seeks a Staff Attorney to join our Legal Team in advancing litigation to protect public lands, wildlife, and ecological values across the West. You will develop and litigate strategic cases, collaborate with program staff, and contribute to campaigns against extractive threats.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of environmental litigation experience and current bar status in a western state, with a commitment to DEIJ. Some travel and flexible work arrangements may apply.

Qualifications

• Current bar membership in at least one contiguous western state is required.
• Minimum 4 years in environmental/natural resources litigation.
• Experience may include litigation-adjacent work (appeals, agency actions).
• Strong writing, research, analysis, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop and litigate cases in federal court, with possible state/administrative matters.
• Conduct factual/legal research and prepare litigation memoranda.
• Handle motions practice and potential appellate advocacy.
• Incorporate DEIJ considerations into case evaluation and development.
• Help develop long-term strategic campaigns and collaborate with outside counsel.
• Mentor interns and contract staff as appropriate.
• Support media communications and press materials with Communications team.
• Occasional travel for case-related matters across the United States.
