Job summary

Life.Church seeks a Staff Attorney, Product to provide legal guidance on IP, data privacy, and product compliance for its digital ministries. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and leadership teams to identify and mitigate risk while fostering compliant, scalable solutions.

The role supports cross‑functional governance, reviews third‑party tools, and participates in security and risk mitigation initiatives to protect the organization’s mission and brand.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of data privacy law, including GDPR and applicable U.S. privacy frameworks.
• Experience with intellectual property law, including licensing, trademark, and copyright.
• Ability to advise on emerging technology legal issues, including AI governance and platform compliance.
• Experience negotiating and drafting licensing agreements and handling licensing implications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary legal contact for data privacy matters and regulatory requirements.
• Review product features and technical implementations to advise on legal requirements for PII processing.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on complex privacy questions and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Advise on governance policies for emerging technologies and cross‑functional collaboration with product teams.
• Negotiate, draft, and manage content license, collaboration, and partner agreements.
• Manage trademark registrations and renewals for Life.Church and YouVersion and advise on filing strategy.
