San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, Inc. seeks a part-time Staff Attorney for its HIV/AIDS Legal Services Program in downtown San Diego.

The attorney will provide legally and ethically sound representation on benefits appeals, estate planning, and anti‑discrimination in housing, while mentoring pro bono attorneys and developing training materials. The role requires CA Bar membership, strong communication and mentoring skills, and the ability to travel within San Diego County.

• Develop and maintain training materials for pro bono attorneys.
• Supervise non‑attorney staff and law student interns.
• Draft narrative reports and assist with data collection for funding sources.
• Support SDVLP’s mission through additional duties as assigned.

Our team of talented and passionate employees is collegial, supportive, and committed to providing top-quality legal services to indigent, vulnerable San Diegans.**OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:**San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, Inc. seeks a part-time Staff Attorney with public interest experience to join our team. The staff attorney hired for this position will be assigned to SDVLP’s HIV/AIDS Legal Services Program.The Staff Attorney for the HIV/AIDS Legal Services Program provides top-quality legal advice and representation to low-income San Diegans in a variety of civil legal matters that impact their health, such as public and disability benefit appeals, estate planning, and disability discrimination in housing.The Staff Attorney works closely with SDVLP’s Pro Bono team and is responsible for mentoring, training, recruiting, and supervising the work of pro bono attorneys representing SDVLP clients.
