Responsibilities include representing the state in diverse child support cases, negotiating with opposing counsel, drafting documents, and ensuring orders meet federal/state requirements.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree and license to practice law in the state where the project is located.
Experience in domestic relations law or as a prosecutor preferred (child support enforcement preferred).

Responsibilities

Ensure proper legal representation in child support matters related to paternity and support order establishment and enforcement
Negotiate with opposing counsel, attend hearings, and perform related actions
Draft, review, and sign legal documents
Ensure orders contain federal and state elements and vigorously advocate the interests of the state
Update automated systems with necessary information to monitor each case through the legal process
Provide legal advice to Specialists in completing documents for court filing
Maintains a positive working relationship with State
Attends weekly project team meeting
Applies knowledge of federal and state child support policies and procedures
