Job summary

The State of Michigan is seeking attorneys to litigate and try high-level employment law cases across Michigan. The Employment Section provides training and supports the attorney to thrive, with collaboration across state departments and a focus on exceptional advocacy.

Positions involve briefing constitutional and statutory issues, taking depositions, handling administrative proceedings, and advising agencies on non-litigation matters. Both new and experienced litigators are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited school of law.
• Four years of post-bar admission legal experience (Senior).
• No specific type or amount of experience required for Staff level; willingness to learn and contribute is valued.

Responsibilities

• Litigate and try cases at high level involving employment law across Michigan.
• Brief cutting-edge constitutional and statutory issues with fiscal impacts.
• Take and defend depositions, handle administrative proceedings, and advise client agencies on non-litigation matters.
