Job summary

Permanent Placements LLC is seeking an experienced Trial Attorney to handle moderately complex civil litigation throughout California. This role is primarily remote, with court appearances and travel as needed.

The ideal candidate will have strong trial experience, be able to manage a sophisticated caseload, and work within a collaborative legal team. A J.D. from an accredited law school and active California Bar membership are required, with at least five years of litigation experience.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California Bar.
• Minimum of 5 years of litigation and trial experience.
• Experience handling personal injury, insurance defense, or related civil litigation matters.
• Strong courtroom, deposition, mediation, and settlement negotiation experience.
• Familiarity with insurance law and claims-related litigation.
• Experience utilizing litigation technology, e-discovery tools, and case management systems.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and client management abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage all phases of civil litigation involving personal injury and property damage claims.
• Handle matters from initial case assessment through settlement, trial, and resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Develop and execute litigation, discovery, investigation, and trial strategies.
• Lead settlement negotiations, mediations, hearings, and trial proceedings.
• Support senior litigation counsel on complex matters through all phases of litigation.
• Advise clients and claims professionals regarding litigation strategy and case exposure.
• Utilize e-discovery platforms, case management systems, and litigation technologies to improve efficiency.
• Maintain compliance with all ethical standards, legal requirements, and internal policies.
• Mentor junior attorneys and legal support professionals.
• Assist with training initiatives and contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies.
