As a Staff/Associate Attorney, you will represent healthcare providers in disputes with medical insurance carriers and managed care organizations through administrative appeal processes. This non-traditional legal role involves analytical analysis, contract reviews, statutory research, and persuasive appeal drafting. You will build a foundational understanding of the industry, focusing on Commercial and Managed Care Insurance Claims policies, ERISA regulations related to claims processing, coverage determinations, and dispute resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Represent healthcare providers in denied claim disputes, primarily managing administrative appeals (no litigation).
  • Develop legal and procedural arguments to resolve medical claim denials.
  • Draft appeal letters to insurance companies and benefit administrators.
  • Use payor manuals and contracts to resolve denied claims.
  • Collaborate with provider representatives and resolution teams.
  • Educate and train staff on trends and denial management.
  • Conduct legal research to support business operations.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor degree required.
  • State Bar Membership preferred.
