Alachua County Clerk of the Circuit Court (FL) is seeking a Staff Assistant I for the Felony Department. The role involves clerical work, serving as a contact for the public and legal professionals, and supporting court records with accuracy and confidentiality.

SALARY: $18.50 per hour; Full time - M-F 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m.; Non-Exempt; Not Remote

A Staff Assistant in the Felony Department, under the supervision of the Felony Supervisor, is expected to perform detailed clerical work in and out of the courtroom. Documents must be accurately and efficiently handled and the Staff Assistant serves as a point of contact for the public and legal professionals, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the integrity of court records. For new hire placement, this position is historically filled at a Level I. Active staff members in this position have the opportunity to progress to Levels II-IV, as the employee becomes proficient in more advanced and specialized tasks.
Essential Job Functions:
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or higher education in a related field is a plus. Previous experience in a legal or clerical environment and/or experience in case management is advantageous.
Must have the ability to deal effectively with customers and resolve problems in a courteous, cool-tempered, and professional manner; as well as efficiently perform detailed work in a fast-paced environment. Must also have the ability to work with and maintain confidential and/or sensitive data and comply with legal advice restrictions of the Clerk's Office.
