JOB SUMMARY

This is a Staff Assistant position in the General Tax Administration Program's Refunds and Revenue Accounting Process. The incumbent answers phone calls, composes and edits communications, files and scans documents, and processes incoming mail. The incumbent also assists with personnel matters, prepares reports, schedules and coordinates meetings, and purchases materials and office supplies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Three years of secretarial or clerical work experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
SUBSTITUTIONS
  • College education from an accredited institution can substitute for the required years of secretarial or clerical work experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Vocational/technical training in the area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required secretarial or clerical work experience.
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent can substitute for one year of the required work experience.
PREFERENCES
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in answering a multi-line phone system.
SPECIAL NOTES
  • The required work hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
SALARY

The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $2,896.67 monthly/$34,760.04 annually.
