Job summary

Relativity Applied Science is seeking a Staff Applied Scientist to tackle the most challenging document-vision problems at scale. You will own multimodal understanding, establish evaluation standards, and mentor scientists while collaborating with engineering to deploy reliable AI systems.

You bring 6+ years of production AI/ML experience and demonstrate expert judgment on AI systems, enabling robust, defensible solutions for the legal domain.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in computer science or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of applied AI/ML experience and production AI/ML in scale.
• Strong judgment about AI systems, evaluation, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Take on the hardest, most ambiguous problems in the portfolio and produce clarity.
• Set standards for evaluation methods, modeling patterns, and quality bars.
• Own readiness for flagship AI systems from framing to production monitoring, in partnership with engineering.
• Mentor senior and lead scientists to multiply impact.
• Advise Applied Science leadership on future directions and investments.
