The Guardian is seeking a Staff Android Developer to lead and shape the Android platform while delivering high-quality apps used by millions. You will own architecture decisions, mentor engineers and collaborate with iOS, backend, product and design teams to deliver cohesive experiences.

You will drive performance improvements, testing strategies and modern development practices, ensuring accessibility and maintainability across the apps.

Qualifications

• Proven Android development experience with Kotlin and modern Android tooling.
• Designs for scalable and maintainable mobile architectures.
• Strong testing mindset covering unit, integration and UI tests.
• Ability to influence technical direction and raise engineering bar across teams.
• Curious and collaborative mindset with cross‑functional partners.
