Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a versatile software engineer for a true full-stack role in San Francisco. You will own a user-facing surface end to end, from UI through backend APIs and data models behind it, with production code shipped quickly.

You will build using AI as a primary tool, turning ideas into prototypes and iterating based on real usage data. Collaboration with designers, PMs, and researchers is essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of professional software engineering experience or strong internships with shipped production code.
• Strong in at least one backend language (Python or Go) with experience across services, APIs, and relational data modeling.
• Comfort with React and TypeScript on the frontend.
• Real evidence of building: production work or open-source contributions.
• Ambiguity tolerance and ability to start building incrementally.
• Hands-on experience with AI products and tool use.

Responsibilities

• Own a user-facing surface end to end, from UI to APIs and models behind it.
• Ship to production continuously; get code in front of users quickly.
• Build with AI as a primary tool and evaluate its outputs.
• Turn ideas into prototypes and use data to decide what survives.
• Raise quality on reliability, latency, and craft of owned surfaces.
• Collaborate directly with designers, PMs, and research engineers.
