Job summary

LinkedIn is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the AI Training Infra, Feature Platform, and Model Serving teams in a hybrid role spanning home and office.

You will help design high-performance data I/O, enable distributed training across hundreds of billions of parameters, and optimize deep learning pipelines while mentoring engineers and engaging with open-source projects to shape future AI platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in the industry with leading/building deep learning systems.
• 4+ years of experience with Java, C++, Python, Go, Rust, C# and/or Scala or other functional languages.
• Hands-on experience developing distributed systems or other large-scale systems.

Responsibilities

• Owning the technical strategy for broad or complex requirements with insightful approaches that go beyond the direct team.
• Designing, implementing, and optimizing the performance of large-scale distributed serving or training for personalized recommendation and large language models.
• Improving observability and understandability of systems to boost developer productivity and uptime.
• Mentoring other engineers, defining a challenging technical culture, and helping to build a fast-growing team.
• Collaborating with the open-source community to influence cutting edge projects (vLLMs, PyTorch, GNNs, DeepSpeed, Huggingface, etc.).
• Acting as the tech-lead for several concurrent initiatives AI Infrastructure and future AI Platforms.
