Job summary

Nscale is seeking a Staff AI Product Engineer to set architectural standards across the AI product domain. You will work across 2–4 teams to define patterns, APIs, and systems that accelerate the product organization, ensuring scalability, reliability, and rapid delivery.

You will own platform surfaces spanning AI services, API gateway, developer experience, billing, identity, and extensibility. Expect broad impact on performance, cost, and velocity across the stack.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of software engineering experience.
• Ability to set technical direction for a product domain across multiple teams.
• Deep expertise in API design, platform engineering, and large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud services design and scalable architecture.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for the AI product platform across multiple teams.
• Drive cross-team architectural decisions: service boundaries, API contracts, data models, platform standards.
• Identify and lead systemic improvements in performance, reliability, cost, and developer experience.
• Resolve ambiguous technical problems at scale with defined boundaries and outcomes.
• Coach and grow Senior AI Product Engineers across teams; raise technical capability.
• Partner with product leadership to align technical strategy with business direction.
• Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions for key platform capabilities and drive them to conclusions.
• Represent the product engineering domain in cross-functional architecture reviews.
