Job summary

Cricut Inc. is seeking a Staff AI-Native Software Engineer to architect a cross-platform design product across desktop, mobile, and cloud services.

You will integrate AI into the product and the engineering organization, focusing on secure, scalable, and observable systems. The role spans client apps, backend services, and hardware connectivity, including Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, and USB, with leadership in architecture reviews, ADRs, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Hands-on use of AI engineering tools with production AI/LLM integration.
• Experience building cross‑platform products at scale for iOS, Android, desktop and web.
• Strong device connectivity knowledge: Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, USB, BLE GATT.
• Backend experience with REST APIs, microservices, and cryptography.
• Proven track record leading large refactors and architecture communication.

Responsibilities

• Champion AI-native engineering practices while staying hands-on in critical code paths and maintaining quality, security, and oversight.
• Drive end-to-end architecture across app, cloud, and device layers with reliable connectivity.
• Lead architecture governance: ADRs, reviews, and traceability to ADR.
• Own planning, estimation, and delivery accountability.
• Ensure reliability, security, and performance through secure auth, encryption, and telemetry.
• Partner cross-functionally and mentor engineering leaders on tradeoffs.
• Own safe shipping with feature flags, rollout, and release health metrics.
