Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Core AI Infrastructure to own the reliability and automation of critical AI infrastructure. You will work on production-grade distributed systems, data pipelines, and deployment orchestration across the full stack, using Go or Python.

You will design developer-facing tooling, drive platform adoption, and partner with leadership to align infrastructure requirements.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience automating and supporting cloud infrastructure (AWS) and network environments.
• Proven experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes in production.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Bash, Ruby, or Go) and Git-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Platform-builder mindset with history of designing reusable infrastructure, APIs, and abstractions used across teams.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of AI products by building production-grade distributed systems including serving infrastructure and data pipelines across the full stack.
• Design APIs, abstractions, and tooling to enable product teams to use AI without bespoke infrastructure requests.
• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to align needs and define platform contracts across multiple groups.
• Shape engineering standards and culture by establishing architecture patterns, mentoring engineers, and improving observability and operational excellence.
• Build full-stack applications powering internal AI products and infrastructure using Go or Python.
