Job summary

Sauce, a premier restaurant technology platform headquartered in NYC, is seeking an AI-first software engineer to shape AI across the Sauce platform, from delivery optimization to operator tools. This founding-level role offers ownership and the chance to ship real products that reach restaurants and customers fast.

You’ll own features end-to-end, from design to production, work with LLMs, and collaborate with product and operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience shipping production full-stack apps.
• AI-first mindset with model integration.

Responsibilities

• Take ambiguous product ideas from zero to shipped—design, build, deploy, and iterate largely on your own.
• Build AI-native features (agents, RAG, tool-use, structured outputs, evals) as core product.
• Own the full stack: frontend, backend, data, model integration.
• Establish feedback loops with evals and telemetry for reliable AI in production.
• Make build-vs-buy decisions while staying at the frontier of model capabilities.
• Collaborate with product and operations to turn real restaurant problems into shipped solutions.
