Job summary

Fortinet, Inc. is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to design and scale secure, high-performance AI-enabled backend systems.

You will work with product, AI/ML, and design teams to deliver capabilities that speed investigations, streamline operations, and enable effective human-AI collaboration. You will own end-to-end features, architect scalable AI agents, and integrate LLMs into production workflows, focusing on trust, security, and real-time user experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven track record shipping data-intensive and AI-enhanced applications at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end complex system features from backend to user-facing interactions.
• Architect and implement scalable AI agent and backend systems for real-time workloads.
• Integrate AI systems (LLMs/GenAI) into production workflows, including fine-tuning and prompt orchestration.
• Design robust data flows (event streams, queues, job orchestration) to support SOC/NOC capabilities.
• Build real-time dashboards and multi-user collaboration experiences.
• Define contracts between AI services, backend APIs, and frontend clients.
• Contribute to trustworthy AI delivery with streaming outputs and guardrails.
