Capital One is building responsible AI systems to reimagine banking. You will join the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team to advance AI engineering, training, and deployment at scale, shaping enterprise AI standards and governance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus 8+ years of AI/ML experience, or a Master's with 6+ years.
At least 8 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.
Experience designing AI systems with cost, latency, throughput and accuracy tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training, LLM inference, agents and workflows.
Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies (AWS, Huggingface, PyTorch, VectorDBs).
Invent and optimize foundation model techniques to improve performance, cost, latency, and throughput.
Contribute to technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One.
