Job summary

Forrest T. Jones & Company, Inc., a firm delivering insurance and related services, seeks a Staff Accountant to support the property and casualty program and corporate entities.

You will reconcile premium suspense and bank accounts, prepare journal entries, and assist with treasury, cash management, and reporting. Strong Excel and detail orientation are essential.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred; 1–3 years in accounting or treasury within financial services is desirable.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of accounting, treasury or financial analysis experience in financial services.
• Insurance experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile premium suspense accounts monthly and prepare journal entries.
• Reconcile property & casualty bank accounts and investigate variances.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports, trends and variances.
• Process premium deposits and remittances to insurers and agents.
• Monitor premium receivables and resolve age balances.
• Assist month-end closing and general accounting duties.
