Job summary

Guest Worldwide in New Jersey is seeking a Staff Accountant to support SOX-compliant financial reporting, general ledger entries and monthly close processes.

You will prepare consolidated statements, analyze variances, reconcile accounts, and assist with payroll journal entries and cash flow analyses, collaborating with department leads.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, an associate degree in accounting, and strong Excel and PeopleSoft skills; on-site work required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting is required.
• 3–5 years related accounting experience; 5–7 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Compile routine accounting processes such as general ledger entries and balance sheet account reconciliations; perform P&L variance analysis.
• Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by analyzing information from the general ledger with input from department leads.
• Analyze financial information to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for managers.
• Prepare payments by accruing expenses; assign account numbers; request disbursements; reconcile accounts and prepare quarterly calculations.
• Update daily cash schedules using bank statements for month-end cash reconciliation.
• Assist with the preparation of annual Profit Plan and miscellaneous projects.
• Prepare payroll journal entries.
• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Participate in the maintenance and oversight of company record keeping.
