Job summary

Fencecrete America, a growing construction/manufacturing firm in the Houston area, seeks a Staff Accountant to partner with the CFO on accounting operations, reporting, and internal controls. This role touches all facets of accounting and offers a path toward senior controllership.

The candidate should have 5+ years accounting experience, CPA preferred, with manufacturing/construction exposure. Remote start with a shift to hybrid in Houston, TX environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 3 years in manufacturing, construction, or related industry.
• Strong P&L analysis and financial statement prep skills.
• Solid grounding in internal controls, process design, and compliance.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the CFO with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and analyze profit & loss statements, variances, trends and areas for improvement.
• Develop, document, and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and accounting processes.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Oversee general ledger accuracy, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll for accurate data.
• Support job costing and cost accounting analysis for manufacturing and construction operations.
