Kimley-Horn is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the corporate finance and accounting team at our Raleigh, NC headquarters. The ideal candidate will own monthly reconciliations, assist with the close process, and support cross-office financial reporting. CPA preferred and multi-entity experience is a plus.

This is an in-office position with opportunity to contribute to ERP initiatives. The candidate should have a Bachelor's in Accounting, at least 3 years in audit or corporate GL, and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 3 years audit or corporate GL/staff accounting experience.
• CPA preferred.
• Demonstrated ownership of account reconciliations—able to explain recon items and resolutions.
• Track record of improving a process rather than just executing.
• Intermediate Excel skills and strong communication.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and own monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations and other GL accounts.
• Perform general ledger reviews and expense testing to ensure proper coding and support.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects and ERP-related initiatives.
• Identify and implement process improvements—document procedures and reduce manual steps.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review internal financial reports and accuracy of work.
