Job summary

AtWork Winston‑Salem, a well‑established public accounting firm, seeks an experienced Staff Accountant/Senior Accountant to join a close‑knit team in Winston‑Salem, NC. The role blends hands‑on accounting with client interaction in a relaxed, collaborative office.

75% of duties are accounting, payroll, and tax; 25% covers office coordination and client communication. CPA not required, but EA welcome. Local firm with overtime and growth potential.

Qualifications

• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with payroll processing and payroll tax reporting.
• Experience preparing individual tax returns; business tax is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Prepare write-up work and maintain accurate client records.
• Process and oversee payroll for multiple clients.
• Prepare and review payroll tax filings and related reports.
• Prepare individual income tax returns; assist with business tax as needed.
• Perform account reconciliations and maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Coordinate client information, deadlines, and communications.
• Support daily workflow and office operations.
