Your Day to Day Might Include:
  • Partner with Production and Finance leadership to understand inventory flows and improve related controls and processes.
  • Analyze and model product and material movement, including purchases, internal transfers, production activity, and sales.
  • Investigate inventory cycle-count discrepancies to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review effects of sales BOMs on profitability and ensure completeness of billing.
  • Develop financial models and reports to measure operational activity and the financial impact of process changes.
  • Support sales quotes by providing cost, margin, and other financial inputs.
  • Partner with IT and business users to enhance ERP functionality, reporting, data integrity, and controls.
  • Perform account reconciliations related to receivables, payables, and other key balances.
  • Identify process and control improvements and work with Finance and Production to implement practical solutions.
  • Validate new processes and system changes to ensure they produce the intended accounting and operational results.
  • Work directly with coworkers in Production to understand how transactions and physical product movement occur in practice.
  • Support Finance leadership on special projects and other evolving responsibilities.
Weekly/As Needed
What You Might Do on a Weekly/Monthly Basis:
  • Review inventory movements and exceptions with Production and follow identified issues through resolution.
  • Support cycle counts and physical inventory activities and investigate differences.
  • Analyze cost, usage, yield, and product-movement trends to identify anomalies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Build and refine models for changes to purchasing, internal movement, production, and sales processes.
  • Test and validate ERP changes, transaction flows, reports, and related controls.
  • Document new or revised procedures and controls so processes are clear, measurable, and repeatable.
  • Assist Director of Finance & Accounting Manager with other duties assigned.
Monthly
  • Support month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Reconcile customer consignment accounts to ensure completeness of documented sales transactions.
  • Analyze inventory and manufacturing variances and provide actionable insights on significant changes or trends.
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting, audit requests, and preparation of \"Prepared by Client\" schedules.
What We're Looking For

  • Strong accounting fundamentals, including inventory, cost of goods sold, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Curious, forensic mindset with a desire to investigate discrepancies, trace transactions, and identify root causes
  • Critical thinker who asks why, seeks to understand how processes work and looks for better ways to measure what is happening.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Comfortable partnering with Production and other departments; able to communicate questions, findings, and ideas constructively.
