Position Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role plays a key part in the monthly close process, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger accounts
• Reconcile vendor statements, inventory, and balance sheet accounts monthly
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions as needed
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Participate in audits by providing documentation and explanations
• Identify and recommend process improvements for greater efficiency
  
  

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3 years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Hours will be 7:00-4:30 on site at the Mt. Horeb, WI location
